Breeding English Bulldogs
Breeding English bulldogs should be down with great consideration with what you will do with the puppies, to prevent even more unwanted dogs. Before you start breeding English bulldogs for profit, make sure you realize that most people do not make any money breeding dogs, and often end up losing money.
To breed English bulldogs, wait until the female comes into standing heat, which is when she is most receptive to the male. You should have her mated with the male on days 1, 3, and 5 when she is receptive to breeding. Breeding her three times gives you the best chance of getting her pregnant.
If you have doubts about when your dog will come into heat you can see a vet who can do a hormone test for blood estrogen level. But for most people they just monitor the female closely. After you have gone through this experience several times you will know what to look for.
If possible it is always best to keep a male and female dog at all times for breeding. Some people pay expensive stud fees, but this makes it harder to time when the female will come into heat.
Breeding English bulldogs should start with a health check by a veterinarian, and a check for brucellosis and any other possible diseases.
