Bulldog Puppy Training

Bulldog puppy training requires a lot of patience, but can be a lot of fun.  If you are an experience dog owner then this should not be a problem.  But if you are a new bulldog owner, or have not trained a puppy for while then here are some pointers or reminders to help you.

You should own a crate for you bulldog puppy.  The crate should be about the same size as the puppy.  You can buy a big one that the dog could grow into, but this could lead to problems.

You want a small crate because the puppy will not want to urinate in the same place that is lies in.  If you buy a big crate then it can urinate in one corner and stay dry in the other side.

For housebreaking your bulldog puppy you need to make sure you set up a regular schedule about when you will walk your dog outside.

Your dog needs to know when it will go outside, so it can use the bathroom.  If not everyone in the family is in on the training schedule than this is a problem and will slow down the progress of housebreaking.

You should let your dog outside first thing in the morning and every few hours when they are young.

Another thing to do is to be sure to let them out right after eating as well because most dogs get the urge to go then.

Housebreaking is not hard.  The hardest part is to get the humans on a schedule.  Dogs love schedules so give them one.
